a very unique banjo player...

my first 'the bayou sings' drawing...

I was so excited about this drawing. One of the inspirations I mentioned in an earlier post is the bayou and so this is my first from that idea. I couldn't wait to finalize the drawing especially with my alligator/crocodile dress girl playing a banjo. Unfortunately, I found out after completion that the instrument I fashioned it after is really a banjo ukulele. So....apparently she is playing a very long banjo ukulele :) Oh well, it happens right? At least my number one fan, Natalie is completely in love with it. She thinks that it is wonderful and beautiful and is happy that we are keeping it. In fact, as I type, she is drawing her own bayou singer using mine as her model. I must admit, I do love her too and wished I had a dress like that along with jet black hair and pale skin. One can dream ;)

Andrea, she is wonderful!! How else would a gal from the bayou be .... Our children are such good critics of our work ... they live their days seeing us work through our ideas and while I think we are thrilled to see the wonderful energy of theirs. I think it was only yesterday, that my Natalie - after many career changes :) - decided to become an artist too and has set up shop in my studio!! Have fun the two of you!! ~Pamela

very nice, i agree with pamela, its great when our kids give us the " i think its great" pep talk regarding our skills! my 5year old is always telling me he loves it, whatever i've made..{unless its a carrot casserole that is...}
