on a new path to getting better (hopefully)

make me better

Forgive me of my absence of late. Most has been for good, the other, well not so much. I've been very happy that (sometimes) I have been more productive lately (in the domestic kind of way) and I've noticed it makes me feel very good inside. Another thing has been happening as well. My health has always been a rollercoaster, never really knowing how I will one day to the next. I'll try to sum up a few things that has happened since the new year began: We lost our doctor and hospital of seven years, got a new doctor, looked over old records, trying to determine what's going on and starting all over basically.
Some of you know of my severe GERD issues which I am not fond of AT ALL. I just found out from our new doctor too, that the removal of the gallbladder should not be the automatic answer for gallstones. I wish I would of had that option before hand and maybe I wouldn't have all these GERD problems to begin with. Also, I've been getting very nauseous again, to the point where it dibilates me from doing my every day duties and such. It has been a long and winding road for me, as long as I can remember. For now, my doctor has suggested I see a psychiatrist and another (new) gastroenterologist. fun. well, at least the good news are that I am not depressed (I took a test for that) and I lost one pound. Only 31 more to go!

I have to be hopeful and trusting.

What God our Father wills is best. When He wills sickness, sickness is better then health. When He wills weakness, weakness is better then strength. When He wills poverty, poverty is better then wealth. When He wills reproach, reproach is better then honor. When He wills death, death is better then life.' ~ Thomas Brooks (1659)

Now back to other things like being bummed that my flickr pro account will expire tomorrow and thinking about what I will cook for dinner tonight. :)

p.s. thanks for letting me spill here. I know it's not great blogging stuff but it is life and that's all I have really ♥

Oh my dear I totally understand! I wish that 20 years ago when I had my gall bladder removed that I had known there were other options. I too have suffered with GERD and other stomach issues for years. Don't let anyone tell you it's all in your head! (I went through that as well!) If you can find an alternative doctor, I highly recommend it. I found one a few years ago and he's made so much difference in my quality of life. He put me on this orange peel extract that has been amazing!
Sorry for the long post ( please delete if you think it's a bother)I just really have so much empathy for your situation. I hope you can find relief soon!

fairiesnest--i deeply appreciate your words. it's very comforting when another completely understands what is going on.
did you have to change your diet too? i would love to hear more about this orange peel extract too (which i am a little surprise considering it's an acid, right?)
:)

I did change my diet quite a bit. No dairy and an limit on sugars( fruit included) and "white" products; rice, flour ,potatoes...things that create sugars. I refuse to take acid blockers because I've seen first hand the damage they can do it taken long term, so I was thrilled to try the extract. It's not acid and actually works as a surfactant to protect your stomach and esophagus lining from acid so it can heal. This is what I take:
"Enzymatic Therapy Heartburn Free"
It's worked for me and I only take it once or twice a year.
